Baron Davis of the Cavs checking out the revised version of my GOI book, I've been so busy working and promoting other people-that I let a lot of my projects sit on the shelf. It's good to give to others. But 2012, my focus is releasing my revised version and promoting my works!

The experience was a good one. Hearing Stedman speak and being a part of the process was an honor. Mr. Graham educated us on the importance of identifying yourself. If you take a close look in his hand-you'll notice that he's holding my book. Hopefully this is part of the momentum Donald Trump speaks about in, "Think Big And Kick Ass".

Each book I sell is so inspirational, because I get to greet the buyer face to face. I'm talking to them about my professional rejections and mistakes. And before you know it, their purchasing a book. My next step is meeting with SCORE.

I'm meeting with SCORE for consultation on building momentum as a motivational speaker.

When I go out to eat with the Wife, shopping, the movies, even jogging my T-shirts will play a huge part in promoting the book, and talking to people face to face about not giving-up on their goals.

One book at a time, one seminar at a time; The most important thing is the process and staying focused on lifting others up along the way.

AND THE GRIND BEGINS!

I came home from work on the 18th of July and there they were sitting on the porch. It was a great feeling. I can't tell you the cloud I was on. The plan that I had in my head was now coming to life.

I created my promotional T-Shirts, and my press release. Now it's time to hit the streets, and corporate giants with the book.

The grind has just begun!

I received an email from Shawn Meloy @ Axess Printing. The email was to inform me that my book goes to print on June 25th 2008. Once the books are ready I'll begin my marketing and distribution strategy.

THE COVER

This is the cover. I felt it was consistent, yet simple. I designed and finished the book. The book is now in the hands of Axess Printing located in Cummings, GA.

I'm starting off 100 copies each order. Then I'll upgrade to 10-100 thousand copies each order.

This book is my way of showing regular people how to stay focused in the face of rejection, and mainly how to "GET OVER IT".

READING THE SIGNS:

My wife had an Avon pamphlet and it featured a Financial Specialist named, Suze Orman. I like watching her TV Show because she's direct, and honest. The pamphlet was mostly pink red and white.

But, Suze Orman's entire page was White, Black, and Orange. I felt like God was giving me a sign.

I had picked the right color.

PICKING THE COLOR:

I didn't know what color to use for the cover. I thought black and yellow. I thought blue and gold.

I went to Barnes & Nobel and looked at other self-help books, and motivational books. I wanted something simple and consistent.

After looking around and listening to that inner-voice I picked White, Black, and Orange.

My deodorant, tools, and a model race car all had the same color. That cosigned my inner-voice's vision.

ROUGH DRAFT:

The rough draft started on note book paper. I simply wanted the concept out of my head. I grabbed some note book paper and released my creative energy onto something solid.

I struggled with a title, and keys/chapters for about three days. It was a good process, and finally "GET OVER IT" The 9 Keys, to getting over pitch rejections and mistakes was born.

There are so many self-help books from millionaires on the market. The one thing that was missing was a book of the same magnitude from someone reaching for the stars. I had been pitching songs, products, and campaigns to corporate America with little or no luck.

I decided to swallow my pride and give readers a view of my rejections and mistakes involving my pitches. I at first wanted to be rich before I told these stories. Then I decided that I wanted people to see that in the mist of the struggle, you can GET OVER IT.
